The Flash - Limited Edition Wool Flash Tattoo Rug South Africa

Inspired by traditional tattoo flash, The Flash takes the familiar old-school tattoo aesthetic and reworks it into a hand-tufted wool rug. A slightly different way to collect tattoos.

Designed in collaboration with Durban artist Shannon Wilson, this 5 × 8 ft hand-tufted wool rug has a soft sage green base with tattoo-inspired artwork in deep navy. Yellow stars are tufted in artificial silk, giving them a subtle sheen and a slightly different texture against the wool.

The muted green keeps the whole thing surprisingly easy to live with, despite the fact that there’s really nothing ordinary about it. It works as a statement rug in a living room, bedroom or creative space, particularly if plain beige rugs have never really been your thing.

Each rug is hand-tufted in India using 100% wool, with artificial silk used for the yellow detailing. The result is a thick, tactile wool rug where you can see and feel the craftsmanship.
